Corrosion Sensors
We have developed a Zombee Tag enabled wireless corrosion sensor that can be read and powered inside metal containers. Originally developed for the U.S. Army, these sensors have no batteries and do not require regular maintenance
The Internet of Things (IoT) connects every day objects to the Internet. This connection creates new and exciting ways to interact with and understand the world around us. Super localized weather forecasts, infrastructure monitoring, crowd metrics, and industrial monitoring are only a few of the emerging IoT markets. Common to all IoT devices is the requirement for power, usually with batteries.
Batteries are the weak link for IoT devices. Batteries make up a big part of the cost and size for any IoT device. Toxic chemicals such as Mercury, Lithium and Zinc are used in batteries and can leach into the environment. Additionally, replacing batteries in deployed IoT devices can be expensive and time consuming.
There is available free energy all around us in radio frequency waves, heat and vibration. We developed Zombee Tag technology to eliminate the need for batteries on IoT devices by capturing this available energy and converting it to electricity. Zombee Tag has no batteries, requires no maintenance and is more environmentally friendly that traditional battery powered IoT devices.
These are a few applications we have explored. Get in touch with EngeniusMicro to discuss your application today.

Accurate and regular Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is vital to public safety. Inspecting roadways, bridges, buildings, pipelines, ships and vehicles will detect potentially fatal or costly structural damage before it is catastrophic. Zombee Tag reduces the size of these sensors and eliminates the cost and hassle associated with battery maintenance.
Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) are required by Federal safety standards but contain batteries that must be replaced at a cost to the consumer. Zombee Tag equipped TPMS systems require no batteries.
Nuclear waste is stored in sealed metal and concrete casks. Monitoring environmental conditions inside these casks can prevent leaks and explosions. We are able to monitor conditions inside the cask without batteries or compromising the integrity of the cask with power wires.
